SSTV

The November WCARA meeting was a program on SSTV using MMSSTV software. This software was developed by Makoto Mori, JE3HHT, and is available as a free download. It is an extensive piece of software for transmitting and receiving color analog SSTV signals.

Several of the attendees requested that information about the links to the software be posted on the web for easy reference.

The software can be downloaded from the JE3HHT site at this link:

There are several sites that offer quick start and tutorial information for the software.

This is the link to the JE3HHT quick start site:

This link goes to W7SAV tutorial, which is 106 pages long, and is very inclusive of the software's details.

Oh-Ky-In runs a MMSSTV net each Friday night at 7:30pm on their 146.925 repeater. This is a great opportunity to work with the software and be able to discuss its use with the net participants.

Frequencies to watch are:

Analog Frequencies

160m 1.916MHz
80m 3.845
40m 7.170
20m 14.230
15m 21.340
10m 28.680
6m 50.680
2m 145.500

Give it a try. It's an exciting and easy way to get operational on SSTV. It operates on low end machines, from Windows 98 on up.
